We 'ring the changes' with tarts, you may find different varieties of tarts at our farmers markets we attend. We always make 4 varieites each week most from the list below. Let us know if you have any favourites, or perhaps you want to be sure you can buy a particular one at a particular market, or would like to see any new combinations - e-mail Karen on kk@thelocaltartcompany.co.uk and we'll see what we can do (no promises mind you!!).
Our current 'portfolio' of tarts includes:
1. Chicken, leek & tarragon. Everyone's favourite and the one Richard calls the 'life-changer' (see picture). We pretty much always take this one to farmers markets, and it usually sells out first too.
2. Mediterranean vegetables with basil and garlic. A firm favourite with the Veggies, one customer had one of these for her Christmas Lunch!!
3. Blue cheese and red onion marmalade. A cheese-lovers delight (Veggie).
4. Broccoli and stilton. A Classic and another veggie.
5. Wild mushroom and thyme. Another Veggie favourite.
6. Caramelised onion and camembert (and recently with stilton instead). Yum, yum. Veggie too.
7. 'Flamiche' with leeks and double cream. Not so good if you are on a diet. (V)
8. Poached salmon and asparagus. Upmarket, and one for the summer months.
9. Herby sausage and onion. A recent addition to the stable, great for kids (and parents love it too).
10. Smoked salmon and cream cheese. Wow.
11. Roast beef and creamy horseradish. For you chaps!!
12. Tomato and 3 cheeses. (V)
13. Tomato and mozarrlea with proscuitto.
14. Spring vegetables in herb butter. Veggie.
15. Chicken, pancetta and fenel. Taste that fenel!!
16. Apple with frangipan. Went down really well at Stafford, but not served up since. Tell us if you want sweet tarts by e-mailing me, and if there is enough demand we shall see what we can do.. kk@thelocaltartcompany.co.uk
17. Pepperonata (V) Moseley loved this one on its first outing on 26th April.
18. Smoked ham, brie and pancetta. Now regularly challenging 'chicken and leek' as No 1, & sells out fast.
19. Tomato, pesto and mozzarella (V) I make the pesto too.
